Pommes Frites is a Belgian frites and beer restaurant. The restaurant is well known for its frites and sauces. When their existing restaurant was destroyed in the Second Ave gas explosion in 2015, the Owners relocated to Greenwich Village to open their new restaurant.
The new space has seating for 12 and some standing room at the periphery. The interiors and exterior facade are composed of reclaimed stained Oakwood to resemble an old Belgian town. Being in a Landmarked district, the project had to go through multiple rounds of review with the Community Board 2, Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) and Department of Buildings. LPC approval was finally granted on 5 April 2016 and Pomme Frites opened in May 2016.
